Ice Cube says he wants his son
to portray him in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, explaining he's "been
trying to get that pushed along."
Los Angeles native Ice Cube has been in the headlines recently for numerous reasons. His forthcoming album tenth solo studio album, Everythang's Corrupt is slated to hit retail shelves in May. Cube will also have a hand in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic.Recently sitting down with The Guardian, the former N.W.A. member talked about the flick and confirmed rumors that he wants his son, O'Shea to play him in the movie.
"Yes. I've been trying to get that pushed along," Ice Cube said when asked if he would like his son to portray him in the biopic, Straight Outta Compton. "Just wanna make sure that he's the best man for the job."
Regarding his children and N.W.A., the rapper/producer/actor said they listened to his music at a very early age.
"They discovered it. I wasn't hiding it, it was right there," Ice Cube said. "My son Darrel could recite 'Straight Outta Compton' at two years old. He loved it! You can expose your kids to anything as long as you sit there and explain it to them."
